Nein. nur der eine Park namens Aquarena ist stillgelegt, die anderen sind noch immer existent und in Betrieb...

http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/Skyride.htm this is the doubble circut vonroll tat was at the 1963/64 worlds fair in new york.this vonroll type 101 still operates to this day.

in the usa,i belong to a few skilift forums and noone realizes that vonroll type 101 grips started the detachable lift technology that we see today.here is your list of vonroll type 101 here in the usa that are still operating.

sorry i dont speak german yes indeed,there are quite a few vr 101 lifts left in the usa.i run a yahoo group all about vr 101 lifts. pictures of vr 101s around the world.alot of info on vr 101 that was the first in usa at disneyland california. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/disneylandskyway/ .i noticed alot of people thanks to translation are interested in these historical lifts.in the usa,most lift enthusiast dont care for the vr 101.thank you for preserving the past on this forum

Hi Robert, many thanks for the pictures. Based on the actual crazy and idiotic regulations inside the european community i fear that the american VR101 cableways will last much more longer and the fans would have to travel in the United States to be able seeing one of those in running condition in the next future.

thats the way it seems.i still dont understand why swiss regulators want the vr 101 gone..is it the same with giovanola?

Switzerland is no EC - member but they had servily taken over their directions. The only exception is Germany with their inventory protection laws which save existing ropeways when the pass the technical examinations. In all other cases all types of cableways with more then 30 years of age had to be exchanged or heavily rebuilt to correspond to the absolutely newest technical regulations.
For example this regulations are forbidding the use of any gravity type clamps, further the regulations prescribe passing downhold sheaves with a derailed rope without troubles and so all old detachable VR, Giovanola, PHP and Transporta Chrudim cableways using similar technics get the mortal blow.

yes its still in operation.they use cwa gondolas.they just got done replacing both cables.the ride itself is in great condition.six flaggs only has 56 cars for both rides,so you wont ever see it run at its full capacity of 108 gondolas.the skyride is a landmark at the park.it wont be going away anytime soon.

It´s not able to use a too old cableway for public transportation, would be possible only for employees or goods.
Besides that most of the collaudation documents includes the aborting obligation when the operating permission will end cause the authority will assure that no ruins stay in the landscape.

what about the group that is trying to save the vr 101s?prosessel?are they able to save the vr101s?out here in san diego the vr 101s are cherrished.especially at the san diego zoo.8 full time mechanics a budget of over 900,000$ us dollars a year.a san diego mechanical historical landmark.hopefully,one of the vr 101s even the geovanola rides can be saved.
