Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)

That sounds like a big project Wish you good luck! I also think that you should contact Zermatt-Bergbahnen or CWA maybe they are friendly and give you the most important informations about this cable-car!

Since a few days CWA is a member of the alpinforum, so you have the possibility to ask them in a private message too:

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
Thank you all very much for the feedback so far.
I will contact CWA through a private message (thanks Petz for the tip) and if that doesn't work I'll contact Bergbahnen Zermatt and see if they can be of any help.
It is indeed a big project, but since it's my favourite cablecar it should be very rewarding to make
What scale do you guys mostly build?

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
Hello,
I have Different Scales.
the T-Bar is 1:20 Scale (here i can´t buy things so i can made them bigger)
The Big Cablecar i build at is Scale 1:32 like the combined Chairlift/Cabins which is also under construction. For Both Cablecars i have bought the Cabins in 1:32 so the scale is the same.

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
Yep, the cablecar Furi-Trockener Steg is one big piece of engineering I would like to build in scale
I mailed CWA through it's account on this forum and I sent a mail to Bergbahnen Zermatt directly, so hopefully something useful wil popup.
Perhaps it could be usefull to make a post on another part of this forum, any suggestions if that could be helpful and if so what subforum to best post it to?

Okay, a minor update:
Zermatt Bergbahen is willing to help but not for now since they are very busy around this time.
Hopefully in a few weeks I have my data, so I can start designing

Thanks for the pictures! Those might come in handy when I am building the 32 sheave "laufwerk". I guess a laufwerk is called a suspension?

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
Hallo Leute,
Erik

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
I have already looked there but no info whatsoever.
All info like cable thickness, track width, etc is unknown.
However I got the original blueprints of the suspension, cabin, etc, so that's really precious information
Does anyone know the diameter of the wheels (sheaves) that are used in the stations?
My guess is they would be around 2 to 3 metres, so they must be 10 / 15 cm on scale.
Thanks for all info so far!

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
Hello all,
Just came back from my holiday in Switzerland. I went to Zermatt but this section (Furi - Trockener Steg) wasn't running
I recently inspected the drawings I got from Zermatt Bergbahnen and I discovered, but I am not really sure, that the actual liner of the sheave (Deutsch: Rille in Rolle) is made from C45 steel.
Here is a picture of the suspension I found on google.
http://img3.imagebanana.com/img/5mtrw0ni/P1070729.JPG
Does anyone know for sure if the sheave liner (black surface actually making contact with the cable) is made of (C45) steel or rubber?
I always thought it was made from rubber, just like with the sheaves on masts of gondola and chair lifts and I planned to make them from rubber as well in my scale model.
I would also like to ask if someone has some detailed pictures of this cable car installation (pylons, suspension, cabins, technical, etc) as I would be very grateful for that.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
of course, the insert-ring is not made from C45 steel!!!! The material is rubber! We call the "Laufwerk" carriage. Good luck with your model!

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
That's what I thought but on the design of the wheels it says: "Rille im Laufring nach dem zusammenbau genau zentrisch to Bohrung schleifen" with an arrow to the "Rille".
Do they actually grind an insert ring that is made of rubber as well?
And there is still one arrow pointing to the insert ring with text "Steel/Stahl" C45" next to it. It's really confusing

Re: Planung / Bau PB125 Furi-Trockener Steg (Von Roll / CWA)
After almost 3 hours of hard Google Sketchup work I managed to design the first 4 sheaves of the carriage.
Hope you'll like it.
Does anyone know a good freeware alternative to Sketchup since Sketchup isn't particularly friendly to work with.
