Hello,

Why, on slopesmap, the area around "Foce di Campolino" is a little bit "white"?
Is-it a closed area? (If it'is closed area why it is always on map? A reopening is programmed?)

Unfortunately withe area is closed since '90 years. Now there is a natural park there.There were other 20 km of slopes ( you can see the old slopes in the photo). Although freerider can enjoy themeselves in Campolino. My photos are made in the valley called Sestaione, between Campolino and Abetone's slopes. It's a long freeride tour.
Opposite of Abetone ski area, there is Monte Cimone. This is another ski area of about 50 km of slopes. But I prefer of course Abetone...Tuscany is better

Besides that closed area, there's another closed resort besides Abetone: Pian di Novello.

There are 4 ski areas there: Abetone, Cutigliano-Doganaccia, Cimone, Corno alle Scale.
Abetone, as you can see, is a nice place with nice slopes and lifts. The same Cimone (40-50 km of slopes ). Cutigliano-Doganaccia is 5km far from Abetone. In Cutigliano a cable car bring you on ski areas. I never went in Cutigliano but a friend of mine went there on dicember and he said me Cutigliano is just for beginner (15 km of slopes).

Pian di Novello, as you can see in Starli's reportage, is now closed.Some politics are trying to open again slopes (15 km of slopes) and lifts, but ecologist are against this decision.

Altough I think Abetone, in Appennine, is the best ski area.
Roccaraso near Napoli or Campo Felice near Rome are very good ski resort but Abetone is better for snow.
But I thing Ischgl is better so next week I will drive to Kappl-Ischgl-Galtur!

Near Siena there is this little ski area of 20 km of slopes and nordic slopes

I've been in Kitzbuhel last year in march. Wonderful place! this year Kappl-Ischgl-Galtur! Maybe a day trip in Serfaus-fiss-ladis...

Fantastic day in Abetone.
5 cm of new snow and a lot of sun for my ski parad-ice!!
Over 5 meter of ice on the top, 2,70 meter down in village.
