Snowmaking continued again on Tuesday morning!
Running Springs, CA - Although it is officially still summer, Snow Valley Mountain Resort began snowmaking operations at 2:30 AM on Monday Morning, September 12, 2005. Snow Valley now has the distinction of being the last resort in the country to make snow in late April 2005 and is now the first resort in the United States to resume snowmaking.
While the main purpose of the snowmaking is for testing purposes, Snow Valley's Marketing Manager Kevin Somes tried skiing the freshly made snow. "It is exciting to be the first resort to make snow, but it was also a unique experience to ski during September! The snow was perfect and I look forward to a fantastic 2005-2006 winter season" stated Kevin Somes, Marketing Manager for Snow Valley Mountain Resort.
