Vonroll VR101 at the Bronx Zoo reborn!!

Parque Nacional del Cafe in Columbia has A piece of history.The former Bronx Zoo Vonroll VR101 in New York got shipped out to Columbia to run once again..I think it it real cool of that park to buy the old Vonroll and resurect it.The gondolas use to be all green,now they are all refurbished and painted brightly..

These old gondolas look very nice with the new painting! Good idea to use them for that park again.

Hasn't there already been a VR101? At least the towers are not the ones used on the bronx gondola!

They originally had a VR101 the park bought in 1983.They reused alot of the Bronx Zoo Vonroll parts.Tower batteries,Grips, Gondolas,Sheaves.In a year or so,The original Drive at the Columbia park will be removed and updated with the Drive from the Bronx Zoo Vonroll.

As I read through translation.1/2 of the BronxZoo Vonroll is used in Columbia for the time being.Tower Batteries and sheaves so far.In a later date,The entire ride might be erected in the place of a 2 passenger chairlift they have.This park in Columbia shure loves the classic VR101s!!!

Not really. I think, you're speaking about towers of Swoboda and Girak, but there is a big difference between this tower and the towers of Girak or Swoboda.

OK, I am not an Expert for austrian ropeway-styles. But I know for sure, such towers were not built by swiss manufactors.

Naja, die meisten Park-Bahnen die Von Roll in den USA gebaut habt, sehen nicht besonders "Schweizerisch" aus. Desshalb muss das noch lange nicht der Fall sein. Die Fachwerkstützen z.B. sehen auch nicht besonderns Von Roll mässig aus.
