What are the plans for Alpe d'Huez Domaine Skiable?
Between 2025 and 2027, the Alpe d'Huez ski area will undergo a significant transformation thanks to an ambitious project to modernise its infrastructure.
The main aim of this initiative is to replace several ski lifts in order to create a fluid and optimised connection between all the resorts in the area (Alpe d'Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Oz 3300, Vaujany, Villard-Reculas), while facilitating access to the summit of the Pic Blanc, culminating at an altitude of 3,300 metres.
The aim of the project is to offer an experience accessible to everyone, whether skiers, pedestrians, mountain bikers, people with reduced mobility (PRM), holidaymakers or residents.
Outline of the project
The project involves replacing the existing ski lifts with five new, modern, high-performance gondola lifts, with the aim of improving user comfort, reducing waiting times and optimising traffic flow within the ski area.
Next steps :
By 2025:
Replacement of the Poutran gondola lift with a new 10-seater gondola lift linking Oz 3300 to the vast ski area.
Replacement of the Rif Nel gondola lift with a 10-seater gondola lift.
Renovation of stations 2 and 3 of the Pic Blanc cable car.
In 2026:
Replacement of the Villarais chairlift with a 10-seater gondola, providing a link between Villard-Reculas and the Grand Domaine.
Renovation of station 4 of the Pic Blanc cable car.
In 2026 / 2027:
Replacement of the Lièvre Blanc chairlift with a 10-seater gondola lift.
In 2027:

In summary: This ambitious project will transform the ski area into a modern, inclusive and perfectly interconnected space, enabling everyone to enjoy the mountains to the full, whatever the season or the activity chosen, whether for leisure, sport or contemplation.
